Barcode Generator

Create linear barcodes (CODE128, EAN, UPC, …) as SVG or PNG

About Barcode Generator

Generate linear barcodes in many standard formats, including CODE 128 (general-purpose alphanumeric), EAN-13 and EAN-8 (retail products), UPC-A (United States retail), CODE 39 (industrial and logistics), ITF-14 (shipping containers), MSI, and Pharmacode. Enter your content, pick a format, optionally show or hide the human-readable text below the bars, and download the result as a clean SVG (perfect for print) or a high-resolution PNG.

Powered by JsBarcode (MIT license), the tool runs entirely client-side and requires no registration. Common uses: print product labels, tag inventory items, create reference barcodes for testing a scanner, or add barcodes to invoices, tickets, and internal documents. Keep in mind that retail formats like EAN-13 and UPC-A require a specific number of digits and a valid check digit — the tool will warn you if your input doesn't match the selected format.

Frequently Asked Questions

Which barcode format should I choose? +
CODE 128 is the most flexible for general purpose and supports any alphanumeric content. EAN-13 is for retail products (13 digits). UPC-A is for US retail (12 digits). CODE 39 is common in logistics and industrial contexts.
How do I get a real EAN/UPC code for my product? +
You need to register with GS1 (the official numbering authority) to receive a legitimate, globally unique GTIN. This tool encodes any number you give it, but only official GTINs are accepted in retail channels.
Is the SVG version better than PNG? +
Yes for printing. SVG scales to any size without losing sharpness. Use PNG when the destination requires a bitmap (for example, some design tools or very old systems).
Are my codes saved or tracked? +
No. The tool runs locally via JsBarcode (MIT license). Your codes stay on your device.
Can I generate QR codes with this tool? +
QR codes are 2D codes and need a different tool. Use our dedicated QR Code Generator page for URLs, text, WiFi and contact sharing.
