Test your typing speed and accuracy
Knowing your typing speed is valuable whether you are a programmer, writer, student, or office worker. Our free Typing Speed Test measures your words per minute (WPM) and accuracy in real time as you type. The test displays a sample text and highlights each character in green for correct keystrokes and red for errors, providing immediate visual feedback that helps you identify and correct mistakes.
You can choose between 30-second, 60-second, and 120-second test durations depending on how thorough a measurement you want. The WPM metric is calculated using the standard method of counting correct characters divided by five (the average word length). Each test uses a different text passage to keep the experience fresh. The tool runs entirely in your browser with no account needed and no typing data collected or stored.
